Healthy Habits

Develop healthy habitsWhat three things can I do to have more energy, lose weight and improve my overall health?

Each individual is different but three habits everyone can benefit from are drinking more water, eating whole organic foods and increasing daily activity.

  1. Drinking clean filtered water assists the body in running efficiently. Water helps cleanse the body and allows for detoxification of chemicals and impurities. Increase your intake of water and the desire for non-nutrient dense fluids, such as coffee or soda, will vanish.
  2. Choose organic whole foods that come from nature, are in-season and are grown locally. Not only will you benefit from these nutrient dense whole foods but you will support the local farmers. Explore local farmer's markets and meet the people who actually grow the food.
  3. Increase your activity by finding activities and hobbies that you enjoy. Plan activities and exercise with a friend and turn it into a social event. Challenge the body and mind with new creative activities. Think of what you enjoyed as a child and go out and do it. Create time in your daily schedule for activity and stick to it everyday!!!

Include the above three healthy habits into your daily rituals and your overall health and happiness will improve!!!! I guarantee it!!!

Stay Hydrated, Stay Healthy

  • glass of waterThe average human loses between 3 and 6 liters of water on a typical day. One to two liters rushes out as urine, and another one-tenth liter in defecation. Water lost as vapor when you breathe could fill around 1 to 2 liter water bottles a day and even more in arid locations. Sweat fills up another liter on an average day, but that amount can reach 1 to 2 liters per hour in an intense workout.

But if you're dehydrated, that super gulp won't give you the quick fix you dream of. The body can only absorb about 1 quart per hour. Drink plenty of clean and filtered water throughout your day, every day. How much? A good rule of thumb is to drink enough water to equal 1/2 your body weight in ounces. For example: a 150 lb. person needs 75 ounces of water every day.
